Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating schedule that includes nights with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements; night-focused rotation with occasional day coverage and float expectations

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor and manage adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Tele/PCU stepdown unit with accuracy and compassion
- Interpret ECG strips quickly and act decisively to maintain patient stability
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine) per protocols
- Provide PCU-level care for post-cath, EP studies, pacemaker patients and medically complex cardiac cases
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, telemetry techs, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to keep the care team informed and continuity strong
- Float across related areas as needed and support unit flow during high census or ER holds
- Serve as a safe, steady presence for patients and families during critical cardiac events
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in North Dakota; compact license holders welcome where applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele or PCU experience required — must be comfortable reading and interpreting strips
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and manage telemetry patients
- Epic experience preferred but not mandatory; first-time travel nurses are welcome
- Comfort with rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends and occasional float assignments
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG strip interpretation
- PCU/stepdown patient assessment and management
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Familiarity with BiPAP, trach care and high-flow oxygen troubleshooting
- Experience with common cardiac meds: Amiodarone, Diltiazem (Cardizem), Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nitroprusside, Furosemide, low-dose Dopamine
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and multitasking in an acute care setting
- Effective documentation using Epic and clear interdisciplinary communication
