Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Days: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM; Nights: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM. Schedule is set by the manager, includes every-other-weekend and required holiday coverage; rotating day/night 12-hour schedule.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult and adolescent patients (15+), including neuro, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-op and cardiogenic shock cases
- Titrate vasopressors, sedation, paralytics and other drips safely and according to protocol
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and monitor strips independently using Draeger centralized telemetry
- Troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment from nasal cannula up to ventilator settings as needed
- Perform/assist with advanced hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000) and manage ICP monitoring workflows when indicated
- Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear, timely patient records
- Participate in rapid response teams and codes; provide leadership as needed and collaborate closely with the charge nurse
- Support patient/family education, deliver compassionate bedside care, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for submission (License to submit is required)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care/ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications and NIHSS certification (required)
- Comfortable titrating drips and managing high-acuity ICU patients
- Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius rule eligibility)
- Ability to pass a skills-based orientation exam (open book) with a 90% score as part of onboarding
- Willingness to float to inpatient units (excluding Maternity/NICU) and work holidays as scheduled
- Adherence to unit policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient-care areas)
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BSN not required (unit indicates no mandatory BSN), relevant acute care nursing education preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing fundamentals: hemodynamics, ventilator basics, sepsis management and ARDS care
- Telemetry/ECG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
- EPIC electronic charting proficiency
- Experience or comfort with CRRT, Swan-Ganz monitoring, ICP monitoring, and advanced pumps (training available on unit)
- Vasoactive medication titration and infusion pump management
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork and bedside teaching skills
- Ability to respond decisively in codes and participate in RRTs
