Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to the care team
• Support mealtimes and safe feeding practices, honoring dietary needs and preferences
• Create comfortable, safe environments by following infection control and safety protocols
• Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with nurses and families
• Build trusting relationships with residents by listening, engaging, and promoting independence

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required) — you know your scope and you own it
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with elderly populations and sensitive to geriatric needs
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing respectful, resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
• Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
• Infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Clear documentation and charting habits
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and de-escalation techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with licensed nursing staff
