Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and help them maintain dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team in a timely manner
• Document care accurately and clearly following facility policies
• Help maintain a clean, safe and comfortable living environment for residents
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists and families to deliver coordinated care
• Follow infection control, safety and privacy practices at all times

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or completed Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screen and required health screenings
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

• Completion of a GNA or nurse aide training program; High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and respectful dementia care approaches
• Basic clinical skills such as taking vitals and reporting changes
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Clear documentation and time management abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols reliably
