Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Support activities of daily living while promoting resident dignity and independence
• Communicate effectively with the care team and families to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans and facility policies
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or eligible to obtain CNA certification in North Carolina)
• Active basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Confident in taking and recording vital signs
• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Knowledge of basic infection control practices
• Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills with residents and staff
