Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal care in a 20-bed Level III NICU, delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment
- Assess, stabilize and manage critically ill neonates in collaboration with on-site Neonatologists and MFM
- Perform advanced procedures and use clinical judgment to guide timely interventions
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and subspecialists for seamless patient management
- Document clinical findings and care plans accurately and promptly in the medical record
- Mentor and support colleagues to promote best practices and continuous improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for infants and families
Qualifications
- NNP candidates: Board Certified APRN with national NNP specialty certification (FNP/PNP not accepted)
- PA candidates: NCCPA board certification; completion of a Neonatal PA training program highly preferred
- Minimum: Master’s Degree (required for both NNP and PA candidates)
- Minimum: 2+ years of current NICU experience as an NNP or NICU-trained PA (training/RN time not counted)
- Not accepting new graduates or locum candidates — current post-training clinical experience required
- Willingness to relocate or reside locally as these are permanent positions and local residency may be required
Education
- Master's Degree (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal care and Level III NICU experience — confident managing complex neonatal cases
- Skilled in neonatal assessment, stabilization and collaboration with neonatology/MFM teams
- Comfortable working extended shift formats (16-hour and potential 24-hour coverage)
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills
- Ability to adapt in a growing unit with variable census (average daily census 12–20)
