Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide in-house OB/GYN hospitalist coverage across three hospital campuses, serving one site per day
- Staff residents on Labor & Delivery and act as the in-house OB hospitalist during your shift
- Perform gynecologic surgeries, including hysterectomy, and manage clinic patients with care and precision
- Manage medically complex, high-risk pregnancies and perform advanced obstetrical procedures when indicated
- Supervise, teach and mentor residents during clinical care and didactic sessions to strengthen the residency program
- Collaborate with Graduate Medical Education teams to enhance curricula and resident training
- Respond to emergency obstetrical situations and provide timely, high-quality L&D care
- Participate in system-wide OB hospitalist initiatives and continuous improvement of care delivery
- Engage with the community and support care for underserved populations with compassion
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
- Active OB/GYN board certification required (candidates with lapsed certification are not eligible)
- Current Ohio medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Ohio
- Proven experience in Labor & Delivery, gynecologic surgery (including hysterectomy) and high-risk pregnancy management
- Experience supervising and teaching residents in a clinical and didactic setting
- Comfortable working 12-hour day and night shifts with scheduled weekend and holiday coverage
- Level III NICU experience preferred
- This is a permanent placement — not open to Locum/Locum-to-Perm, 1099, or visa-sponsored candidates
Education
- MD or DO; completion of OB/GYN residency; active OB/GYN board certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge in obstetrics and gynecology, including L&D management
- Advanced obstetrical surgical skills and gynecologic surgery experience (hysterectomy)
- Ability to manage medically complex and high-risk pregnancies
- Experience with emergency obstetrical care and rapid decision-making
- Skilled in resident education, supervision and mentorship
- Collaborative approach to working with GME teams and interdisciplinary colleagues
- Commitment to equitable care for underserved populations
- Comfort operating in an academic hospital environment with Level III NICU services
