Shift Type: Option 1: Friday-Sunday, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM (weekend 12-hour rounding shifts, rotating weekend coverage); Option 2: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (40-hour hospital/clinic role with typical 8-hour clinic days; day shift with 1:5 on-call rotation and 2-3 walk-in clinics/month); Option 3: 7-on/7-off, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (hospital-only 12-hour day shifts; team coverage by day and solo coverage evenings)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient non-invasive cardiology care, including hospital rounds and clinic visits
• Manage clinic panels efficiently — average 20–25 patients per 8-hour clinic day
• Participate in team-based hospital rounds caring for a service responsible for ~50–60 patients daily
• Cover on-call duties on a 1:5 weekend rotation with telephone and occasional in-person responses
• Document patient care thoroughly using the Epic EMR system
• Collaborate proactively with multidisciplinary cardiology teams across affiliated hospitals and clinics
• Follow institutional credentialing, licensing, and compliance requirements to ensure patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine required at start
• Must maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Valid DEA registration required
• Experience or interest in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology, including non-invasive cardiology procedures and assessments
• Comfortable with hospital rounding, clinic visits, on-call coverage, and walk-in clinics
• Team player who communicates well with multidisciplinary colleagues and participates in quality/productivity improvement
• Not accepting Locum candidates; not open to Visa candidates; open to 2026 new grads; open to 1099 candidates
• Willingness to comply with institutional policies and complete credentialing processes

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of appropriate residency training
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine (required at start)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in non-invasive cardiology and patient assessment
• Proficiency with Epic EMR for clinical documentation
• Skilled in hospital rounding and outpatient clinic management
• Familiarity with emergency response protocols and certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS)
• Ability to manage moderate patient volumes and triage effectively
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for multidisciplinary care
• Comfort with telephonic coverage and occasional in-person call responses
• Interest in productivity, quality improvement, and continuing medical education
