Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with care and professionalism
• Conduct thorough interview-based medical exams to capture veterans’ histories and concerns
• Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing
• Complete timely, clear medical documentation and exam reports, including any required addendums
• Review diagnostics and provide objective medical opinions when requested
• Follow VES practice descriptions and workflows to ensure consistency and quality
• Participate in credentialing and onboarding to meet program requirements

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner with ability to practice in the state where you will see patients
• Experience or comfort with general medicine and interview-based non-treatment evaluations
• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams or willingness to learn the C&P process
• Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to produce clear medical opinions and addendums
• Reliable access to an office within a 50-mile radius of the service location if choosing the provider-owned office option
• Comfort performing basic physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing

Education

• Graduate-level NP education and current NP licensure preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medical interviewing and non-treatment medical evaluations
• Proficient in medical documentation and report writing for medicolegal contexts
• Knowledge of general medicine principles and physical assessment techniques
• Ability to interpret basic diagnostics and contribute objective medical opinions
• Familiarity with workflows for one-time C&P and separation exams
• Strong communication skills with patients and program staff
