Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert pediatric cardiac critical care for patients in a 14-bed Cardiac ICU
• Manage perioperative care for a high-volume congenital heart surgery program (400+ cases/year)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ECMO and congenital heart catheterization services
• Participate in care across the tertiary Pediatric ICU and newly opened pediatric emergency department
• Support pediatric and neonatal transport services to ensure safe transfers
• Deliver procedural sedation services as part of comprehensive pediatric care
• Contribute to academic teaching and supervision of University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine trainees
• Lead and maintain continuity of high-quality patient care through rotating schedules and on-call coverage

Qualifications

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care OR Pediatric Cardiology with an extra year of CICU training
• Experience in pediatric cardiac critical care and CICU management (ECMO support and congenital heart catheterization collaboration preferred)
• Comfort participating in procedural sedation, transport medicine, and multidisciplinary team-based care
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including on-call and weekends
• This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area
• Not accepting Locums candidates and not accepting visa candidates

Education

• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care, or Pediatric Cardiology with extra year of CICU training

• Pediatric cardiac critical care and CICU clinical management
• ECMO support and familiarity with congenital heart catheterization programs
• Procedural sedation techniques and patient safety practices
