Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Hospital Medicine team with clear vision and supportive mentorship
- Oversee inpatient care delivery and drive improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency
- Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to implement best practices and protocols
- Monitor and act on performance metrics to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital procedures
- Support recruitment, retention, training and professional development for hospitalists
- Use Epic EMR effectively to streamline documentation and workflow
- Champion quality improvement projects and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- MD or DO (or equivalent) with an active medical license (eligible to practice in New York)
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or within 2 years of certification (no fresh graduates)
- Proven experience in hospital medicine and clinical leadership — experience is required
- Demonstrated experience with Epic EMR
- Strong background in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and performance metrics
- Experience supporting recruitment, retention and training initiatives
- Must be a permanent-hire candidate — locums not accepted
- US work authorization required; visa sponsorship not available
Education
- MD or DO (or equivalent)
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred (or within 2 years)
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of hospital medicine and inpatient care practices
- Clinical leadership and team management skills
- Familiarity with Epic EMR and clinical documentation workflows
- Competence in quality improvement methodologies and regulatory compliance
- Ability to analyze and act on performance metrics
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
- Recruitment, training and staff development experience
