Shift Type: Rotating 24-hour schedule: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM (24 hours on), followed by 24 hours on-call with a 10-minute response expectation, then 96 hours off; rotation covers both day and night coverage and includes weekends and holidays as scheduled

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional and compassionate ALS-level care to patients of all ages in pre-hospital and hospital-based settings
- Perform thorough patient assessments and initiate appropriate treatments following standing orders and medical direction
- Administer medications using the five patient rights and titrate IV drips such as nitroglycerin, heparin, vasopressors, and fluids
- Operate and manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators when indicated
- Supervise and ensure the safety of EMTs, staff, and bystanders during patient care and transfers
- Document patient care and clinical findings accurately and timely in the charting system (Point Click Care)
- Coordinate interfacility transfers and communicate patient status clearly at handoff
- Adapt to dynamic situations, identify staffing needs, and communicate with Ambulance Supervisor or leadership
Qualifications
- Active Paramedic license (EMT-P) required
- National Registry Paramedic credential (NREMT-P) required
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required and current
- Minimum 1 year experience providing ALS level of care
- Experience titrating IV drips and administering emergency medications
- Intubation experience is preferred
- Ability to meet a 10-minute on-call response requirement during on-call periods
- Willingness to comply with a 50-mile radius rule and employer affiliation restrictions
Education
- Paramedic certification (EMT-P) required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional advanced life support training and continuing education preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and triage skills across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Proficient with medication administration, IV access, and titration of drips
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator operation and troubleshooting
- Solid documentation skills using electronic charting systems such as Point Click Care
- Ability to supervise EMTs and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort managing trauma, chest pain, respiratory distress, falls, and abdominal pain cases
- Clear communication skills for handoffs, incident reporting, and working with hospital leadership
