Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights (includes every other weekend), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC. Schedule varies to meet department needs; no block scheduling commitment required.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy emergency department
- Provide advanced cardiac monitoring and respond to acute changes in patient condition
- Perform and document patient care in Cerner with attention to detail and timely updates
- Collaborate closely with techs, unit clerks, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
- Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support continuous improvement
- Maintain patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, frequent updates)
- Float within all sections of the ED as needed while staying within the ED (no floating outside the department)
- Support stroke, trauma, and high-acuity workflows consistent with a comprehensive stroke and Level 2 trauma center
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) — eligible to practice in the U.S.
- Minimum 2 years’ RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and/or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Certifications required before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Teamwork mentality with demonstrated ability to coach and deliver real-time feedback
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department with variable patient ratios
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and triage best practices
- Cardiac monitoring and familiarity with GE monitors
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps
- Proficient documentation skills in Cerner
- Comfort managing patient ratios typical of an ED (often 4:1, up to 7:1 on behavioral holds)
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered bedside manner
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team and adapt to shifting priorities
- Familiarity with stroke protocols and trauma workflows
