Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately to ensure timely, high-quality care
• Provide trauma and stroke-focused nursing interventions in a high-volume ED
• Administer medications and manage infusion/volumetric devices such as Baxter pumps
• Monitor cardiac status using GE monitors and other bedside monitoring equipment
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity
• Coach and mentor teammates in real time, fostering a collaborative team environment
• Deliver exceptional patient experience using AIDET and maintain up-to-date patient boards
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing (state license required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center, high-volume ED preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS before start of assignment; PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required or to be obtained prior to start as noted
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork and coaching skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback
• Comfortable documenting in Cerner and working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage assessment and emergency nursing best practices
• Trauma care workflows and stroke assessment protocols
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• Ability to manage high patient ratios and behavioral-hold scenarios
• Excellent communication, patient experience focus, and cultural sensitivity
