Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Deliver evidence-based trauma and stroke care, prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
- Administer medications and infusions using Baxter pumps and monitor responses
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and intervene appropriately using GE monitors
- Document assessments and care thoroughly in Cerner to maintain accurate patient records
- Coach and mentor colleagues in real time to support a culture of learning and teamwork
- Communicate clearly with patients and families, using AIDET principles to enhance patient experience
- Float within all ED sections as needed to support patient flow and unit efficiency
Qualifications
- Active RN credential (title indicates Registered Nurse) with applicable state authorization to practice
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Proven teamwork mindset with the ability to coach and deliver real-time feedback
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and high-volume ED workflow
- Trauma care and Level 2 trauma center experience
- Comprehensive stroke center protocols and NIHSS
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Triage skills and rapid patient prioritization
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
- Strong communication, coaching, and teamwork abilities
