Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Continuously assess and monitor patient condition and respond to changes rapidly
• Administer medications and therapies safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Perform advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Maintain competency through required exams and specialty checklists
• Float to related units (ED, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical) within scope to support patient flow and staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Current BLS required upon hire and to be maintained
• Current ACLS required within 30 days of hire and to be maintained
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS required within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients (if applicable)
• DCI/BVP certification listed among required unit certifications
• RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings and competency exams

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care knowledge including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Rhythm interpretation and telemetry experience
• Basic pharmacology knowledge for ICU medications
• Experience with emergency response and rapid assessment
• Comfort floating between ICU, ED, Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units
• Familiarity with Prime competency exams and specialty checklists
