Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging studies with care and precision to support accurate diagnoses
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following all safety and regulatory protocols
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, including proper identification and monitoring during procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and imaging records for quality and compliance
- Complete required competency exams and specialty checklists to demonstrate and maintain proficiency
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and the care team to optimize imaging workflows
- Participate in infection control and health screening processes to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Valid state license/certification for nuclear medicine technologists and successful license verification
- Successful completion of site-required competency testing: Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam
- Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, drug screen)
- Experience or training in nuclear medicine procedures and radiopharmaceutical handling preferred
- Strong attention to safety, radiation protection principles, and patient-centered care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine imaging techniques and radiopharmaceuticals
- Comfortable operating gamma cameras and SPECT/CT systems
- Familiarity with radiation safety and dose minimization practices
- Excellent patient communication and positioning skills
- Proficient documentation and electronic imaging system use
- Ability to work independently during procedures and collaborate during on-call coverage
