Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using mobile and stationary equipment
• Operate CT imaging as required and assist with contrast-enhanced studies when indicated
• Start IVs and administer IV contrast safely and per protocol, monitoring patients for reactions
• Ensure patient safety with appropriate radiation protection and positioning for optimal images
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, image archiving and timely communication with providers
• Follow State and Federal regulations and facility policies to maintain regulatory compliance
• Participate in competency testing, skills checklists and specialty exams to maintain clinical readiness
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and support staff to deliver compassionate, efficient care

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) registration required
• CT ARRT registration required
• State Radiologic Technologist licensure for Texas and required fluoroscopy permit
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification
• Venipuncture/IV insertion certificate and proficiency starting IVs for contrast injections
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiography program
• At least one year of acute clinical radiology / radiology technologist experience preferred
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with imaging systems and electronic documentation
• Ability to pass required drug screen, TB/PPD/Chest X-ray, vaccine and fit test requirements

Education

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiography program (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiography and fluoroscopy techniques, including mobile and stationary equipment
• CT imaging principles and contrast administration
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
• Venipuncture and IV contrast injection skills
• Familiarity with State and Federal regulatory requirements for imaging
• Patient positioning, radiation safety and image quality optimization
• Electronic documentation and basic PACS/RIS computer proficiency
• Infection control practices and patient assessment during imaging procedures
