Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Deliver safe, high-quality critical care and manage hemodynamic monitoring for ICU patients
- Administer treatments and medications accurately and promptly, following hospital protocols
- Communicate clinical changes and abnormal findings to physicians and the care team clearly and promptly
- Lead and guide patient and family teaching to support recovery and discharge planning
- Coordinate and direct activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and documentation standards in the medical record (MEPIC EMR)
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN license (California required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, preferably in critical care/ICU
- BLS and ACLS required
- MEPIC EMR experience required
- CCRN certification preferred
- PALS, DCI/BVP listed among recommended certifications
- COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred and other standard health requirements (PPD/TB, MMR, Hep B, etc.)
- Successful completion of required competency screenings and skills checklists
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care nursing knowledge, including hemodynamic assessment and monitoring
- Skilled in acute patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Proficient with EMR documentation — specific experience with MEPIC preferred
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Infection control, medication safety, and patient privacy best practices
