Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Deliver safe, high-quality critical care and manage hemodynamic monitoring for ICU patients
• Administer treatments and medications accurately and promptly, following hospital protocols
• Communicate clinical changes and abnormal findings to physicians and the care team clearly and promptly
• Lead and guide patient and family teaching to support recovery and discharge planning
• Coordinate and direct activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and documentation standards in the medical record (MEPIC EMR)

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license (California required)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, preferably in critical care/ICU
• BLS and ACLS required
• MEPIC EMR experience required
• CCRN certification preferred
• PALS, DCI/BVP listed among recommended certifications
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred and other standard health requirements (PPD/TB, MMR, Hep B, etc.)
• Successful completion of required competency screenings and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing knowledge, including hemodynamic assessment and monitoring
• Skilled in acute patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Proficient with EMR documentation — specific experience with MEPIC preferred
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Infection control, medication safety, and patient privacy best practices
