Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and ventilator management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Perform patient assessments, arterial blood gas sampling, and interpret results to guide therapy
• Initiate and manage airway interventions and advanced respiratory therapies
• Respond quickly and confidently to code situations and respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency checklists and exams
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and institutional policies including fit testing and immunization requirements

Qualifications

• Valid state Respiratory Therapist license required with License/Certificate Verification
• Current BLS required; PALS, ACLS, and NRP required as listed
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist as part of onboarding
• Successful completion of required health screenings including drug screen, TB testing, and immunizations
• Comfort working night shift, every other weekend and every other holiday; flexibility with scheduling is a must
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; RRT or CRT preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
• Airway management and oxygen therapy modalities
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases and adjustment of respiratory interventions
• Neonatal resuscitation principles and pediatric respiratory care
• Infection control practices and monitoring (fit testing, PPE use)
• Clear clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Ability to perform under pressure during codes and emergencies
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family education
