Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway care for adult and pediatric patients as needed
• Perform neonatal and pediatric resuscitation when required, following NRP and PALS protocols
• Respond rapidly and professionally to code situations and respiratory emergencies
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Document assessments, treatments and outcomes accurately in the patient record
• Participate in required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
• Adhere to infection control practices and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, DCI/BVP
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license with successful license/certificate verification
• Successful completion of required health screenings and immunizations (TB/PPD, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap)
• Pass required pre-employment checks: drug screening, color-blind test and fit testing
• Comfortable working night shifts with flexible scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of ventilator management and respiratory equipment
• Proficiency in airway management and oxygen therapy modalities
• Familiarity with neonatal and pediatric resuscitation protocols (NRP, PALS)
• Excellent clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Clear, timely documentation and effective communication with the care team
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and adapt to changing patient needs
• Commitment to infection control practices and patient safety
