Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 10:45 AM - 7:00 PM (Day shift). On-call expectations: 2-3 on-call days per week depending on cases/experience and every other weekend on-call with possible call-back.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR suite, ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to coordinate case flow and optimize outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique and manage the sterile field during cardiac and vascular procedures
• Operate and assist with DaVinci XI robotic systems as required, supporting minimally invasive approaches
• Perform advanced patient monitoring and respond rapidly using ACLS/BLS protocols when needed
• Complete accurate perioperative documentation and participate in required competency testing
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to call-backs promptly to support emergent cases

Qualifications

• Current, valid state RN license preferred (must be active and in good standing)
• Minimum 3 years CVOR experience required
• Experience in acute care and perioperative nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Familiarity with DaVinci XI robotic systems strongly preferred
• DCI/BVP certification and Nursys registration preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass required screening and competency exams (drug screen, TB, fit test, immunizations)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of CVOR and perioperative nursing practices
• Proficiency with sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Skill in patient monitoring and interpretation of rhythm strips
• Experience with DaVinci XI robotic-assisted procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity OR environments
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation and charting accuracy
• Familiarity with regulatory and safety testing requirements for perioperative staff
