Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality critical care nursing using assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Monitor patients’ hemodynamic status and communicate changes clearly to the care team
• Perform timely patient assessments and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition
• Deliver patient- and family-centered teaching and support during critical care episodes
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate safe care and treatments
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and adhere to ICU standards of care
• Demonstrate and maintain required competencies and pass Prime specialty/core assessments
• Follow infection control and employee health requirements to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys enrollment/verification required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DCI/BVP required
• Experience working in ICU/Critical Care settings (critical care skills strongly preferred)
• Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring, patient assessment and direct critical care interventions
• Ability to complete Prime exam/checklist requirements (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, specialty exams)
• Must meet employee health requirements (drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and critical care patient assessment
• Rhythm interpretation (ECG) and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Direct patient care and ventilator/ICU equipment familiarity (as applicable to unit)
• Strong communication with physicians, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Patient/family teaching and education skills
• Familiarity with Prime Core Competencies and Prime Skills Checklist
