Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units, including continuous cardiac monitoring and timely interventions
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition clearly and accurately
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital policies and provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to other units as needed, adapting quickly and safely to new patient populations
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility protocols for patient and staff safety

Qualifications

• Current RN license (verified via Nursys) — eligible to practice in Illinois
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed in the order
• Able and willing to float between telemetry and medical-surgical units
• Must complete required onboarding checks: drug screening, TB screening, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap), and fit testing

• Medical-surgical nursing care and patient assessment
• Safe medication administration and documentation
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Familiarity with competency exams and skills verification processes
