Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Perform ongoing hemodynamic monitoring and promptly communicate changes in clinical condition to the care team
• Deliver patient- and family-centered education and guidance to support recovery and informed decision-making
• Implement evidence-based interventions and evaluate patient responses to therapy
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and maintain accurate clinical documentation in EPIC
• Mentor and guide other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and professional standards at all times

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license for the state of California
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in an acute care hospital with critical care/ICU experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• CCRN certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Completion of required facility onboarding: drug screen, TB test, immunizations, fit test and Prime competency exams

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation skills
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting critical care data
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record workflows
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition
• Excellent patient/family teaching and communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced ICU environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with ICU standards, infection control, and privacy/confidentiality practices
