Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care on Telemetry and Medical/Surgical units
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and recognize/act on arrhythmias and clinical changes promptly
- Administer medications and manage complex medication regimens safely and accurately
- Float to other med/surg and telemetry units, adapting quickly to different team workflows
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and documentation in a timely manner
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with compassion
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be verifiable via Nursys)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as required by the facility
- Telemetry and Medical/Surgical clinical experience (ability to float between units)
- Willingness to complete Prime exams, skills checklists, and required health screenings
- Ability to meet employer health requirements (TB, immunizations, fit test, drug screen)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
- Solid med/surg assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
- Care coordination and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, variable-unit environments
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
