Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality transthoracic and relevant echocardiography studies using department protocols
- Operate and maintain ultrasound/cardiac echo equipment, ensuring calibration and readiness
- Collaborate with cardiologists and the care team to provide timely, accurate diagnostic information
- Document findings clearly in the patient record and communicate urgent results promptly
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing reliable coverage for Saturdays and holidays
- Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and institutional protocols during patient care
- Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- DCI/BVP certification (listed as required)
- License/Certificate Verification completed prior to start
- Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist
- Demonstrated echocardiography / cardiac echo experience
- Ability to participate in on-call rotations, including Saturdays and holiday coverage
- Up-to-date health screenings and immunizations per facility requirements (TB, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of echocardiography techniques and cardiac imaging protocols
- Proficiency in performing cardiac echo studies and operating ultrasound systems
- Excellent patient care and communication skills for interacting with diverse populations
- Accurate clinical documentation and ability to convey findings to the care team
- Comfort working independently during on-call periods and making rapid, informed decisions
- Familiarity with competency exams and skills checklist processes
