Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic and relevant echocardiography studies using department protocols
• Operate and maintain ultrasound/cardiac echo equipment, ensuring calibration and readiness
• Collaborate with cardiologists and the care team to provide timely, accurate diagnostic information
• Document findings clearly in the patient record and communicate urgent results promptly
• Participate in on-call rotations, providing reliable coverage for Saturdays and holidays
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and institutional protocols during patient care
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• DCI/BVP certification (listed as required)
• License/Certificate Verification completed prior to start
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist
• Demonstrated echocardiography / cardiac echo experience
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations, including Saturdays and holiday coverage
• Up-to-date health screenings and immunizations per facility requirements (TB, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of echocardiography techniques and cardiac imaging protocols
• Proficiency in performing cardiac echo studies and operating ultrasound systems
• Excellent patient care and communication skills for interacting with diverse populations
• Accurate clinical documentation and ability to convey findings to the care team
• Comfort working independently during on-call periods and making rapid, informed decisions
• Familiarity with competency exams and skills checklist processes
