Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on MedSurg telemetry and PCU units
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to detect changes and escalate appropriately
• Support and assist with cardiac catheterization patients and post-procedure care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document care and assessments accurately in EPIC and maintain up-to-date charts
• Perform medication administration, IV management, and complex clinical interventions safely
• Act as a dependable float RN — adapt quickly to unit workflows and mentor less experienced staff when needed
• Complete required unit competency checklists and competency testing to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Rhode Island) — Rhode Island is a compact state; active compact license acceptable
• Minimum 2+ years of recent MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience with 2+ years of cardiac patient experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be already held; prior use in clinical settings required)
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Nursys report (within 30 days) and license/certification verification required for submission
• Submission package must be one PDF including: cover sheet, resume, skills checklist, 2 references, license/certificates
• Willingness and ability to meet health and screening requirements (vaccines, TB, drug screen, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Clinical experience with PCU-level cardiac care and post-cath management
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
• Ability to perform ACLS/BLS algorithms confidently in emergencies
• Medication administration and IV infusion management knowledge
• Familiarity with Prime testing modules: pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies and specialty exams
• Comfortable floating between MedSurg and PCU environments and prioritizing multiple patients
• Good communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
