Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in ED and ICU settings with calm, decisive action
• Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and initiate interventions for critically ill or injured patients
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Administer medications and advanced treatments safely, following facility protocols and pharmacology best practices
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and support advanced life support measures when needed
• Document patient status, nursing interventions, and handoffs clearly and professionally
• Participate in competency testing and specialty exams to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license (required)
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience with ICU and/or ED (explicitly required)
• Current BLS upon hire and maintained (required)
• Current ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients (when applicable)
• NRP and DCI/BVP certifications listed as applicable/desired
• Completion of facility-required competency and specialty exams

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in high-acuity environments
• Proficiency with ED and ICU monitoring, advanced cardiac life support, and emergency interventions
• Comfortable performing skills under pressure and in fast-paced teams
• Excellent communication for clear handoffs and family updates
• Familiarity with core competency testing and specialty clinical checklists
