Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and assessments for patients across age groups
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment
• Perform airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication administration
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in code events as needed
• Document treatments, progress, and clinical changes accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in infection control practices, equipment cleaning, and safety protocols
• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency through required testing

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• Current NRP certification required
• DCI/BVP competency and License/Certificate Verification as part of credentialing
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam and Prime Skills Checklist
• Willingness to complete required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Fit Test, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Flexibility with night scheduling, weekends, and holiday rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in airway management and emergent respiratory interventions
• Ability to interpret ABGs and apply appropriate clinical interventions
• Experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adult respiratory care (per certifications)
• Skilled in patient education, bedside assessments, and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with infection control practices and equipment decontamination
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
