Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population with urgency and compassion
• Perform rapid assessment, triage and stabilization for acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary team members to deliver timely care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit competency validation and maintain required certifications and training
• Contribute to a safe, efficient and patient-centered emergency department environment

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Nursys recognized) for practice in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NRP preferred or required as listed in certifications
• Completion of employer-required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Successful completion of required competency exams and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills in acute and critical care situations
• Proficiency in emergency procedures, triage and rapid decision-making
• Comfortable with a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with emergency documentation and electronic health record workflows
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients simultaneously
• Competence with basic and advanced life support interventions
