Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe and stable
• Provide focused PCU-level nursing care for cardiac and post-cath patients
• Administer medications accurately and document care in EPIC
• Float between MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU areas to meet unit needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during handoffs and patient rounds
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for Rhode Island compact state practice
• Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience with cardiac/PCU exposure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; ACLS must show prior use in previous positions
• DCI/BVP certification preferred or required as listed
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Nursys report within 30 days and license/certification verification for submission
• Ability to meet health and screening requirements including immunizations, TB test, drug screen, and fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac patient care including post-cath and PCU practices
• Strong medication administration and pharmacology knowledge
• Experience working as a float RN across MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation workflows
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
