Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients across the unit
• Manage ventilators and perform pulmonary function assessments with precision
• Administer and monitor aerosolized and nebulized treatments safely
• Perform arterial blood gas collection and interpret results to guide care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about respiratory care plans and home therapies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapy certification/license (License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (both required)
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing as listed
• Current fit test and up-to-date immunizations/health screenings (Trinity Color Vision, MMR, Hepatitis B, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, Influenza vaccine, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Physical/Health Statement)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and ventilator management
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication delivery
• Ability to perform and interpret arterial blood gases
• Familiarity with hospital documentation systems and infection control practices
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfortable working in fast-paced acute care settings and handling emergent respiratory situations
