Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 3x12 schedule (3 shifts on / 1 off), includes every-other-weekend coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly interpret dysrhythmias to ensure rapid, lifesaving responses
- Provide expert care for ventilated patients and manage tracheostomies with precision and compassion
- Administer IV therapy, blood and blood products, and manage central lines (PICC/ports) safely
- Perform stroke scale assessments and support neuro-focused rehabilitation plans
- Support intensive therapy regimens, assisting with mobilization, assistive devices, and fall prevention
- Deliver wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and meticulous infection control
- Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services and rapid response teams to coordinate excellent patient-centered care
- Chart accurately in the electronic record (Epic preferred) and communicate care plans clearly to patients and families
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license (required)
- AHA BLS (required); ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab nursing experience (required)
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience is a plus
- Travel assignment experience preferred; traveler must be able to float to other UCSF facilities
- Comfort working at a 1:5 patient ratio on days and nights as scheduled
- Previous charge experience preferred and teaching hospital experience is a plus
- COVID-19 vaccine and booster required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions only)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of cardiac arrest and emergency response
- Stroke scale assessment and neuro/brain-injury care
- Care of ventilated patients and tracheostomy management
- Feeding tube and NG/PEG tube care and management
- IV therapy, central line care (PICC), and administration of blood products
- Wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment
- Familiarity with Epic charting system and strong documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary rehab environment
