Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments and document findings in Epic
• Provide individual, group and family therapy tailored to adolescents
• Deliver crisis intervention and short-term therapeutic support when urgent needs arise
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate contingency plans with the care team
• Navigate and assist families with Department of Children and Families (DCF) processes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Document care delivery, goals and patient response clearly and according to plan of care
• Provide patient and family education, advocacy and culturally competent support

Qualifications

• CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required or Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient social work experience
• Demonstrated experience providing therapy to youth, including group and family therapy
• Experience with Epic or other electronic charting systems required
• Ability and willingness to float to other UCSF facilities as needed
• Knowledge of child protective services and experience with DCF processes
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Education

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)

Knowledge & Skills

• Care coordination and case management across multidisciplinary teams
• Biopsychosocial assessment and treatment planning
• Crisis intervention and safety planning for suicide/homicide/self-harm risks
• Individual, group and family therapy techniques and short-term therapy utilization
• Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and mental status evaluation
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with coverage criteria
• Cultural competence and adherence to NASW Code of Ethics
• Experience in outpatient, psychiatric hospital or school settings is a plus
