Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret evaluations and test results to create individualized OT treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic interventions to help patients regain physical and mental functioning
• Teach activities of daily living (ADLs), vocational and homemaking skills to promote independence
• Select and recommend assistive equipment and design home exercise programs for continuity of care
• Coordinate discharge planning with physicians, nurses, social workers, and caregivers
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain confidentiality and compliance with policies
• Supervise and develop rehab aides; provide in-service training and mentorship
• Maintain equipment, follow infection-control protocols, and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (required)
• Valid NBCOT registration/certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Previous occupational therapy experience preferred
• Ability to perform medium-level physical tasks (occasional lifts up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for long periods
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; experience supervising aides is a plus

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (required to obtain state licensure; BS/MS/OTR or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation methods for physical and mental dysfunctions
• Skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, and outcome evaluation
• Familiarity with ADL training, sensorimotor and therapeutic activity design
• Customer service skills for patient-centered care and education
• Competence in documentation, charting, and discharge planning
• Ability to design and deliver training curriculum for staff development
• Understanding of infection-control practices and safe patient handling
