Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in the emergency department
• Rapidly and accurately triage patients to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Assess and monitor patient status, initiating appropriate interventions
• Administer medications safely and pass required medication competency testing
• Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, patients and families
• Document care accurately in the Electronic Medical Record system
• Cross-train and float to Med-Surg as needed to support unit needs
• Work independently with initiative while collaborating as part of the care team

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• 2+ years recent Emergency Department (ER) experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to pass the nursing medication test
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Records and basic computer systems
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg when needed
