Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility while promoting resident independence
- Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members about changes in resident status
- Assist with meal service, feeding, and hydration while respecting dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or rehab settings is a plus but enthusiasm and strong bedside manner matter most
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Local candidates only (this is a local assignment)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and resident assistance with dignity and respect
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and resident status
- Basic charting and familiarity with electronic medical records is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with residents, families and staff
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs on busy shifts
