Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate occupational therapy interventions to help patients regain independence in daily living activities
- Implement treatment plans under the supervision of the OTR, focusing on functional outcomes and meaningful goals
- Perform patient assessments, document progress, and adjust care plans to meet evolving needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the medical record and communicate changes in condition to the team
Qualifications
- Current COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in New Hampshire (facility will confirm specific requirements)
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting with a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL training, transfers, mobility and functional task training
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment
- Strong clinical documentation and assessment skills
- Ability to create practical, patient-focused treatment plans
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and regulatory documentation standards
