Shift Type: Days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Day shifts; 8/10/12-hour day shift options). Guaranteed 40 hours/week typical; call 4-5 times per month with one weekend on-call per month.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab, focusing on safety and positive outcomes
- Prepare and monitor patients for catheterization procedures and collaborate with the cardiac team
- Use Epic to document care accurately and communicate patient status to the care team
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Participate in unit workflows to support a busy Level I Trauma hospital handling 40–50 cases/day
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care
- Contribute to quality improvement and infection control practices in an acute care setting
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas)
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (acute care/Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system
- Orientation completion (12 hours specified) and willingness to participate in on-site orientation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume Level I Trauma hospital
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN acceptable). BSN not required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and sterile technique
- Familiarity with acute care workflows and trauma-level care demands
- Competence using Epic for charting and order entry
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills
- Effective teamwork, communication, and ability to prioritize in a busy unit
