Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Med/Surg and critical care nursing to adult patients on the night shift
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Use ACLS and PALS protocols confidently during emergencies to support positive outcomes
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (Epic preferred)
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
• Support unit workflow during peak times and assist with triage and transfers as needed
• Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and professional development

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — current and in good standing
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Strong Med/Surg experience with additional Critical Care/ICU background preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and handling high-acuity situations
• Epic experience preferred; experience with electronic charting and clinical documentation
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg and critical care nursing principles
• Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring, and medication administration
• Skilled in emergency response using ACLS and PALS algorithms
• Experience with Epic or similar electronic medical records for documentation and orders
• Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and delegation skills
• Ability to educate patients and families with compassion and clarity
