Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and dignity
• Document care provided accurately and timely in the facility record system
• Help create a warm, engaging environment that promotes independence and quality of life
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and ensure consistent, person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Per diem availability and ability to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
• Able to pass required background checks and facility health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and basic clinical observations

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Familiarity with safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Basic vital sign observation and reporting
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Teamwork, adaptability, and clear communication with residents and staff
