Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document care, assessments and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and ancillary staff to create and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a safe care environment
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico (or eligible for licensure)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Acute care nursing experience preferred; strong clinical judgment a must
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced clinical scenarios while maintaining attention to detail
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking
- Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
- Patient education and discharge planning
- Proficient documentation in electronic health records
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with patients and team members
