Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to residents at Red Rocks Care Center
- Perform assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care
- Document clinical findings, interventions and resident progress in a timely and professional manner
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications and health maintenance
- Respond to emergencies and changes in condition with calm, evidence-based actions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact multistate RN license if applicable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or similar clinical setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work the scheduled weekend day shifts (Sunday, Friday, Saturday)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of nursing fundamentals, medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with long-term care protocols and regulatory compliance
- Skill in electronic health record (EHR) charting and timely documentation
- Strong patient assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care
- Effective communication with residents, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
