Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate therapeutic interventions under the direction of the occupational therapist
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and adaptive techniques to improve independence
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document progress accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
- Educate residents and families on adaptive strategies and home programs
- Monitor and report changes in patient status to the supervising therapist promptly
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging rehabilitation environment
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain state authorization to practice
- Comfortable working the listed day shift schedule across all days of the week
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation or skilled nursing setting preferred
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and adaptive equipment
- Skilled in ADL retraining, therapeutic exercise, and functional activity analysis
- Ability to document clinical notes clearly and follow care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for patient and family education
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
