Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate therapeutic interventions under the direction of the occupational therapist
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and adaptive techniques to improve independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document progress accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
• Educate residents and families on adaptive strategies and home programs
• Monitor and report changes in patient status to the supervising therapist promptly
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging rehabilitation environment

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required
• Active state licensure or ability to obtain state authorization to practice
• Comfortable working the listed day shift schedule across all days of the week
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation or skilled nursing setting preferred

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in ADL retraining, therapeutic exercise, and functional activity analysis
• Ability to document clinical notes clearly and follow care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for patient and family education
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
