Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Assist with mobility, transfers and safe patient positioning to promote comfort and independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nurse in charge
- Support activities of daily living while maintaining patient dignity and privacy
- Document care in a timely, accurate way and contribute to clear team communication
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA certification for New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable working a 12+ hour day shift and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assisted living skills
- Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Reliable documentation and charting practices
- Teamwork, time management, and clear communication with clinical staff
