Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct acute and swing bed patient care at the highest evidence-based standards
• Assess and evaluate patient health status through thorough data collection and clinical judgment
• Deliver therapy and treatments that support patient recovery, directly or via delegation
• Perform timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, teaching, and care coordination
• Coordinate care with physicians and ancillary departments to meet medical and social needs
• Teach and counsel patients and families to support health literacy and recovery
• Execute delegated medical functions and review therapy and treatment plans for effectiveness

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, Med/Surg experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
• Comfort working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and in swing bed care settings

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment for acute and swing bed patients
• Accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
• Therapy, treatment delivery, and monitoring skills
• Health teaching and patient education techniques
• Care coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Delegated medical functions and familiarity with Med/Surg nursing workflows
