Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate bedside care for critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU
• Attend deliveries and stabilize neonates at birth, collaborating closely with the delivery team
• Monitor, assess, and document neonatal status and interventions with precision
• Implement individualized care plans and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Support and educate families through stressful moments with empathy and clarity
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (required)
• Minimum two (2) years of Level 3 NICU experience — candidates without this will not be considered
• Experience with delivery attendance is required
• Post-partum experience is welcomed but not required
• Current ACLS/BLS as required by facility (verify facility-specific requirements prior to start)

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active California license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with Level 3 NICU workflows and critical neonatal care
• Skilled in neonatal assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Comfortable participating in delivery attendance and immediate neonatal stabilization
• Ability to communicate clearly with families and clinical team members
• Patient safety mindset with attention to infection control and unit protocols
