Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduled with scheduler rebalancing; 3-4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks; holidays scheduled per unit coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, trauma-informed nursing care across SICU, MICU and TICU pods for critically ill adults
- Manage ventilators (Cervo I, Jet, Oscillators) and execute ventilator-associated care safely and confidently
- Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and titrate drips according to protocols
- Perform and maintain competency in sterile procedures including central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion
- Respond to trauma activations and acute events with rapid assessment and skilled interventions
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in unit SIMs Lab and pass requisite competency assessments (day 1 pass/fail components)
- Float between ICU areas and med-surg/tele units as needed to meet patient care demands
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for submission (willing to wait acceptable)
- ACLS, BLS and NIHSS required and current
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; must have experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility
- Level 1 trauma experience is required
- Proven ability to read/interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a dysrhythmia exam (two exam attempts allowed)
- Competence with ventilator management and titratable drips
- Comfort with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy assistance, trach care, and hemodialysis catheter care
- Ability to meet facility policies on personal appearance and fit-testing (e.g., no facial piercings, natural hair color expectations, men clean-shaven for fit test)
- Reliable transportation (travel teams must have their own vehicles) and flexibility to float between campuses
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- Associate degree or BSN acceptable (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- ICU and Level 1 trauma care principles
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation; dysrhythmia recognition
- Ventilator management (Cervo I, Jets, Oscillators) and respiratory care collaboration
- Central line and Foley care, sterile field maintenance
- Titration of vasoactive and sedative drips
- Experience with Cerner charting system
- Wound care, restraints and patient lift equipment familiarity
- Critical thinking, rapid assessment, and effective interdisciplinary communication
