Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
• Monitor and document patient vitals and changes in condition accurately
• Assist nursing staff with transfers, ambulation, and repositioning to promote patient safety
• Support meal setup and feeding as needed while encouraging patient independence
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Comfort working overnight shifts and adapting to variable per diem schedules
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute settings preferred but new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with basic patient care procedures and safety protocols
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Good observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
• Comfort with electronic or paper charting and documentation
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
